Menachos 83 – Good Morning Raboisai Source for Buying Korban from Chullin The Gemara brings a long pasuk (“ זֹאת הַּתֹורָה …”) , where each word teaches a דין . Goal: To prove that certain korbanos (e.g. Korban Pesach) must be purchased from chullin (own money) , not from maaser sheini Limud from “Mincha” From the word Mincha : • Mincha is eaten only by male Kohanim ( זכרי כהונה ) • This teaches similar דין for related korbanos “Chatas” – Absorption ( בליעה ) Extra word “Chatas” teaches: • Korbanos can become kadosh through absorption ( בליעה ) • If one korban absorbs from another → it takes on its halachos “Asham” – No Kedusha in Fetus From Asham: • A fetus ( ולד ) does NOT have kedusha Reason: • According to this shita → fetus only becomes kadosh after birth “Miluim” – Burning Leftovers From Miluim: • Leftover meat must be burned • But live animals (bal chai) are NOT burned “Shlamim” – Pigul Extends to Nesachim From Shlamim: • If a Kohen has improper intent → korban becomes pigul • This pigul also affects the wine/flour (nesachim) Key Limud – Rabbi Akiva Rabbi Akiva learns from Chatas : Just like Chatas: • Must be from chullin So too: • Other korbanos (including Pesach) must be from own money Additional Halachos Learned From same limud: • Shechita must be by day ( ביום ) • Avodah done with right hand (Note: these have other sources too – mentioned here “ אגב ”) Leftover Korban Pesach → Becomes Shlamim If a Korban Pesach cannot be used: It becomes a Shlamim Three cases: 1. After Pesach + over 1 year old 2. After Pesach but still within year 3. Before Pesach but slaughtered too early All require separate pesukim → each case needed Extra Korban (Moiser Pesach) If extra animal remains (e.g. original found after replacement): It becomes a Shlamim Multiple Korbanos on Pesach A person may bring several korbanos: • Korban Pesach • Chagigah of 14th • Olas Re’iyah • Other obligations Key Takeaways • Korbanos must be bought from chullin (not maaser produce) • Kedusha can transfer via absorption • Fetus does not automatically have kedusha (in this shita) • Pigul affects even nesachim • Leftover Korban Pesach → always becomes Shlamim • Many pesukim each teach specific nuanced cases
